Dalam salah satu riwayat yang sering dinisbatkan bersumber dari Nabi
Muhammad SAW, dikatakan, “Tuntutlah ilmu sampai ke negeri Cina.” Ini
mengindikasikan bahwa Negeri Tirai Bambu itu memang memiliki sumber
pengetahuan yang sangat luar biasa.
Lantas bagaimana dengan
Mesir? Saya juga menganggapnya demikian. Mesir merupakan sumber
pengetahuan yang mengagumkan. Pendek kata, Mesir adalah kota ilmu.
Bagi
saya, judul tulisan ini, yakni “Belajar dari Mesir”, memang tampak
sederhana. Tapi, ia mengandung banyak makna. Pertama, Negeri Firaun ini
sudah terkenal sejak dulu kala. Di negeri ini diturunkan banyak nabi,
seperti Nabi Syuaib AS, Musa AS, Harun AS, dan Yusuf AS.
Karena
itu, Mesir layak dijadikan contoh atas sebagai bahan pembelajaran akan
makna di balik diutusnya para nabi di negeri tersebut. Ada apa gerangan
hingga Allah mengutus beberapa nabi di Mesir? Termasuk juga bagaimana
sistem pengelolaan keuangan dan perputaran ekonomi sewaktu diperintah
oleh Nabi Yusuf AS.
Kedua, Mesir merupakan peradaban besar di
dunia. Ia tak kalah hebat dari peradaban Yunani Kuno, Romawi, hingga
Persia. Mesir memiliki piramida yang mengagumkan. Ribuan pekerja
dikerahkan untuk membuat piramida itu. Begitu pula dengan bahan-bahan
bangunannya. Bisa dipastikan, dua hingga lima orang pun tak akan sanggup
mengangkat salah satu batu piramida itu. Sebab, besarnya bisa berukuran
2 x 2 meter dan tingginya pun juga demikian.
Bahkan, sampai hari
ini keberadaan piramida itu masih kokoh berdiri. Ia seakan tak lapuk
oleh kemegahan Burj Khalifa di Dubai yang menjadi gedung pencakar langit
tertinggi di dunia. Ia juga tak kalah menawan dari Menara Eiffel di
Paris, Prancis. Ia juga tak kalah hebat dari Patung Liberty di Amerika
Serikat.
Dengan apakah orang zaman dahulu membangun piramida itu?
Hingga kini pertanyaan tersebut belum juga ditemukan jawaban yang
memuaskan.
Ketiga, selain piramida dan sphinx , Mesir juga
merupakan negara yang pertama kali mendirikan universitas. Universitas
Al-Azhar adalah universitas tertua di dunia. Sejumlah tokoh besar lahir
dari universitas ini. Baik cendekiawan, ulama, menteri, presiden,
pujangga, sastrawan, pakar kedokteran, dan astronomi.
Keempat,
Mesir memiliki Sungai Nil yang merupakan salah satu sungai terpanjang di
dunia. Sungai ini memberi manfaat besar bagi rakyat, tidak hanya warga
Mesir, tapi juga sepanjang aliran Sungai Nil yang melintasi sembilan
negara di kawasan Afrika itu. Di Sungai Nil ini pula, kisah
dihanyutkannya Nabi Musa sebelum akhirnya tertambat di sekitar istana
Firaun.
Kelima, di negeri ini pula terdapat raja yang zalim,
yakni Firaun. Ia mengaku sebagai Tuhan. Akibat hal itu, Allah pun
mengutuknya dan menjadikannya sebagai pelajaran bagi umat manusia agar
tidak mengaku sebagai Tuhan. Manusia adalah manusia, tak lebih. Ia tak
punya kuasa. Bahkan, ia pun tak sanggup menolak tumbuhnya sehelai uban
di kepalanya.
Keenam, tak hanya Firaun yang zalim, di negeri
Mesir ini juga terdapat seorang manusia yang kaya raya. Kekayaannya
begitu melimpah dan sangat besar. Bahkan, untuk gemboknya saja, harus
dipikul oleh sedikitnya 40 orang prajurit. Dialah Qarun. Akibat
kesombongannya, Allah kemudian membenamkannya ke dasar bumi. Konon,
tempat dibenamkannya Qarun itu ada di daerah Al-Fayuum. Al-Fayuum
berasal dari kata alfa yawm yang berarti 1.000 hari.
Ketujuh, di
balik kemegahan, kemewahan, dan kehebatan Mesir, kita juga perlu belajar
hal lain dari Mesir. Negara-negara di dunia perlu melihat dan belajar
dari negeri Firaun ini. Ketika terjadi Arab Spring yang menyebabkan
runtuhnya kepemimpinan di Tunisia, lalu meluas hingga ke Mesir yang
menumbangkan rezim Husni Mubarak, ada banyak pelajaran yang bisa
dipetik.
Kelemahan sistem pemerintah, dugaan kasus korupsi,
buruknya sistem pengelolaan keuangan, otoriternya pemerintah, serta
lamanya memegang tampuk kekuasaan bisa membuat petaka bagi pemimpinnya.
Karena
itu, seorang pemimpin harusnya bisa mengambil contoh dari kasus Mesir.
Betapa sistem otoriter telah membuat rakyat sipil marah. Mereka tak
peduli dampak yang ditimbulkan. Mereka rela melepaskan nyawanya demi
kedamaian dan hancurnya kepemimpinan yang otoriter akibat lamanya
berkuasa. Satu tujuan mereka, tumbangkan rezim yang bisa membuat rakyat
sengsara.
Apa yang terjadi di Mesir hingga saat ini dan telah
menewaskan rakyat sipil telah membuat negeri itu berada dalam
kehancuran. Berbagai upaya perdamaian sampai kini juga masih belum
tercapai. Kita berharap, apa yang terjadi di Mesir saat ini bisa segera
selesai dan Presiden Muhammad Mursi dapat memimpin negeri Firaun itu
menjadi lebih baik.
Dari semua hal di atas, semoga kita bisa mengambil pelajaran dari Mesir sebagai bekal bagi kita untuk berbuat yang terbaik.
