Menyikapi isu Mesir beberapa pekan terakhir, beberapa mahasiswa berbagai
kampus kampus di Sumsel yang tergabung dengan Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa
Muslim Indonesia (KAMMI) Daerah Sumatera Selatan, Forum Silaturrahmi
Lembaga Dakwah Kampus (FSLDK) Sumatera Selatan serta BEM Se-Sumsel (BEM
SS) melakukan aksi solidaritas mendukung penegakan demokrasi serta
penolakan terhadap kudeta di Mesir (30/7). Aksi yang dimulai setelah
shalat Ashar tersebut berlangsung damai. Start dari pelataran Masjid
Agung Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I Palembang, aksi kemudian berlanjut di
Bundaran Air Mancur.

Sriwijaya menyampaikan dalam orasinya bahwa dunia harus membuka mata
terhadap peristiwa kudeta dan pembantaian di Mesir. Amerika Serikat yang
selama ini katanya menjadi penjaga demokrasi hanya diam saja dan
terkesan merestui kudeta yang terjadi.
Aksi juga diwarnai dengan
long march, peserta aksi berjalan mulai dari Bundaran Air Mancur Masjid
Agung sampai ke Bundaran Pasar Cinde. Di pasar Cinde, peserta aksi
melaksanakan shalat ghaib secara berjamaah. Koordinator Aksi Bobi Sugara
dalam pernyataan sikap menyampaikan bahwa KAMMI Sumsel, FSLDK Sumsel
dan BEM se-Sumsel mengutuk keras aksi kudeta dan pembantaian demonstran
pro demokrasi dan anti kudeta oleh militer Mesir. Bobi juga mengajak
seluruh rakyat Indonesia selaku warga dunia yang demokratis untuk
mengutuk sikap agresif dan pembantaian di Mesir. Tuntutan yang tak kalah
penting adalah mendesak pemerintah Indonesia dalam hal ini Presiden SBY
melalui Menteri Luar Negeri untuk mengambil sikap tegas dan berperan
aktif dalam menyuarakan tragedi kemanusiaan dan pelanggaran HAM di
Mesir.
“Kita berhutang pada Mesir, hutang kita adalah hutang
sejarah kemerdekaan sebab Mesir-lah negara berdaulat yang pertama kali
mengakui kemerdekaan Indonesia,” pungkasnya.
