mendesak Amerika Serikat untuk memberikan tekanan yang lebih keras
kepada Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun agar mengakhiri aksi unjuk rasa mereka.
Dilansir AFP, dalam wawancaranya dengan
Washington Post komandan
militer, yang memimpin kudeta atas pemerintahan presiden Muhammad
Mursy, itu memperingatkan bahwa polisi bisa bertindak untuk membubarkan
pengunjuk rasa [pendukung Mursy].
Al-Sisi menuding pemerintah Presiden Barack Obama, yang memberikan
bantuan militer setiap tahun $1,3 milyar ke Kairo, berpaling dari rakyat
Mesir.
“Anda meninggalkan rakyat Mesir, Anda berpaling dari rakyat Mesir dan
mereka tidak akan melupakannya. Sekarang Anda ingin terus membelakangi
rakyat Mesir?” kata Al-Sisi dalam transkrip wawancara yang dirilis hari
Sabtu (3/8/2013).
“Pemerintah AS memiliki banyak pengaruh atas Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun
dan saya sangat ingin pemerintah AS menggunakan pengaruh itu untuk
menyelesaikan konflik ini,” kata Al-Sisi.
Saat ditanya apakah aparat keamanan akan membubarkan paksa kamp-kamp
unjuk rasa Al-Ikhwan, Al-Sisi menjawab bahwa tugas itu tidak akan
dilakukan oleh tentara.
“Siapapun yang akan membersihkan lapangan-lapangan ini atau
membubarkan aksi duduk ini bukanlah militer. Ada polisi sipil dan mereka
yang bertugas untuk menjalankan tugas ini,” jawab Al-Sisi.
Terkait tindakan militer yang turun tangan saat unjuk rasa menentang
pemerintahan Mursy, Al-Sisi berdalih, “Pada tanggal 26 [Juli] itu, lebih
dari 30 juta orang turun ke jalan untuk memberikan dukungan kepada
saya. Orang-orang itu menunggu saya untuk melakukan sesuatu.”
Sejak Mursy dikudeta oleh militer pimpinan Al-Sisi, lebih dari 250
orang pendukung Mursy tewas, diantara mereka banyak yang ditembak di
kepala dan dadanya.
Peran besar dalam kudeta itu mendatangkan gelar pahlawan bagi
Al-Sisi, pejabat tinggi militer Mesir yang dikenal dekat dengan Amerika
Serikat.
Ditanya apakah dirinya berminat mencalonkan diri menjadi presiden, Al-Sisi memberikan jawaban yang membingungkan.
“Saya ingin mengatakan bahwa pencapaian yang paling penting dalam
hidup saya adalah mengatasi keadaan ini, [untuk memastikan] bahwa kami
hidup dengan damai, melanjutkan rencana ke depan kami dan melaksanakan
pemilihan umum yang akan datang tanpa tumpah satu pun tetes darah rakyat
Mesir,” kata Al-Sisi.
Saat didesak dengan pertanyaan yang sama, Al-Sisi menjawab “tidak bercita-cita mendapatkan kekuasaan.”
Al-Sisi membela keputusannya menggulingkan Muhammad Mursy, presiden
pertama yang dipilih secara demokratis setahun setelah diktator Husni
Mubarak digulingkan.
“Saya memperkirakan, jika kami tidak turun tangan, maka akan terjadi
perang sipil. Empat bulan sebelum dia lengser, saya mengatakan hal yang
sama kepada Mursy,” kata Al-Sisi.
“Yang saya ingin Anda tahu dan pembaca Amerika juga tahu adalah bahwa
ini adalah rakyat yang menentang kekuasaan politik yang tidak adil, dan
orang-orang ini membutuhkan dukungan Anda,” kata Al-Sisi tentang rakyat
Mesir yang menentang pemerintahan Mursy.*
