Eropa tengah ketar-ketir,
mereka takut akan serangan besar Mujahidin Al Qaeda. Setelah Amerika
Serikat menutup 22 kantor perwakilannya di seluruh Timur Tengah dan Afrika
Utara, diikuti oleh Inggris yang menutup Kedubesnya di Yaman, kini Perancis pun
mengikuti langkah rekannya.
Perancis mengatakan bahwa mereka
akan menutup Kedubesnya di Yaman untuk beberapa hari mulai Ahad ini (4/8/2013)
dan mendesak warganya yang berada di negara itu untuk mengambil tindakan
pencegahan karena ancaman keamanan yang tinggi.
Keputusan ini muncul setelah langkah
serupa oleh Inggris dan Jerman yang mengikuti keputusan AS untuk mengeluarkan
peringatan perjalanan bagi warganya dan menutup kedutaan sementara.
“Kami memiliki elemen-elemen yang
membawa kami untuk meyakini bahwa ada ancaman yang sangat serius dan
negara-negara lain juga telah mengambil langkah serupa,” ujar presiden
Perancis, Francois Hollande selama kunjungna npada Sabtu (3/8) ke barat daya
Perancis.
“Oleh karena itu, kedutaan (di
Yaman) akan ditutup selama beberapa hari. Kami juga sadar bahwa kami
harus menjaga kewaspadaan tinggi dalam beberapa minggu mendatang.”

Perancis juga menegaskan langkah itu.
Interpol yang berbasis di Perancis,
pada Sabtu (3/8) mengeluarkan peringatan keamanan global, menasehati
negara-negara anggota untuk meningkatkan kewaspadaan akan kemungkinan serangan
besar setelah serangkaian serangan ke penjara Irak, Libya dan Pakistan oleh
Mujahidin yang berhasil membebaskan ratusan tahanan Muslim.
Penyerangan terhadap penjara di
Pakistan terjadi pada 31 Juli lalu dalam operasi yang dipimpin oleh Mujahidin
Taliban dan di Irak, penjara Abu Ghraib diserang pada 22 Juli. Sekitar
500 tahanan Muslim di antaranya para petinggi Al Qaeda, berhasil dibebaskan.
Lebih dari 1.100 tahanan juga
dibebaskan di pinggiran kota Benghazi pada 27 Juli lalu.
Uni Eropa mengatakan bahwa mereka
akan mengambil “semua tindakan yang diperlukan” menyusul pengumuman AS.
