BERTEMPAT di kediaman resmi Perdana Menteri Jepang, Rabu kemarin
(31/7) Shinzo Abe, selaku PM Jepang saat ini, mengajak para duta besar
dari 35 negara Islam untuk menghadiri acara buka puasa bersama.
Acara tersebut dimaksudkan untuk mempererat hubungan persahabatan dan
meningkatkan rasa saling memahami antara Jepang dan dunia Islam.
Duta besar Aljazair di Tokyo, Ali Qutranji, yang mewakili semua
perwakilan negara-negara Islam di Jepang, menyambut baik niat hangat
Jepang itu.
“Kami merasa acara seperti ini akan menumbuhkan kedekatan dan
memastikan adanya keinginan bersama untuk meningkatkan kerja sama yang
saling menguntungkan,” kata Qutranji.
Dalam acara buka puasa bersama itu, dubes Suriah tidak hadir. Ini
berarti perwakilan Suriah tidak menghadiri acara ini selama dua tahun
berturut-turut.
Pemerintah Jepang memang tidak mengundang perwakilan Suriah sejak
tahun lalu sebagai bentuk kecaman terhadap rezim Bashar al-Assad dalam
konflik Suriah.
Acara buka puasa ini pertama kali digelar di masa pemerintahan PM
Junichiro Koizumi pada 2005, sehingga tahun ini merupakan buka puasa
bersama yang kesembilan.
